Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Modero (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information.
Modero is designed to help you drink less on autopilot. Alcohol tracking is personal, so we try to keep your actual drinking history private and local while still using privacy-conscious analytics to improve the App.
1. Summary
Modero does not require an account.
Modero does not show third-party ads.
Modero does not sell your data.
Your in-app drink logs are stored locally on your device and are not sent to our servers.
Apple Health data, if you grant access, is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
We do collect analytics and telemetry about how the App is used, including onboarding, paywall, subscription, feature usage, settings, notifications, and technical events.
We use TelemetryDeck for product analytics and RevenueCat for subscription management.
2. Information stored locally on your device
The following information is stored locally on your device:
- drink logs;
- drink dates and times;
- daily, weekly, and monthly drinking history;
- comfort zone settings;
- notification settings;
- local app preferences;
- local insight state;
- Apple Health-related observations, if you grant Apple Health access.
This information is used to make the App work on your device.
We do not currently send your in-app drink logs or Apple Health data to our servers.
If you delete the App, locally stored App data may be deleted from your device, unless it is preserved by iOS backups or other Apple system features.
3. Drink logs and alcohol tracking data
Your drink logs are personal.
Modero does not currently collect the following data on our servers:
- the number of drinks you log inside the App;
- the exact dates or times of drinks you log inside the App;
- your full drinking history;
- your weekly or monthly drinking totals;
- your edited drink log history;
- your Apple Health sleep or heart rate data.
However, Modero may collect analytics events that describe how App features are used. For example, we may track that a drink logging action happened, that a screen was opened, that a button was tapped, or that a feature was used.
We use this analytics to improve the App, understand product performance, and fix problems.
We do not use this information to show ads.
We do not sell alcohol-related data.
If we decide in the future to collect detailed drink log analytics, such as exact drink counts, drinking times, or long-term drinking patterns, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide clear notice inside the App. Where appropriate, we will ask for permission before collecting that data.
4. Onboarding analytics
We collect analytics about onboarding and early setup.
This may include:
- onboarding screen views;
- onboarding answers;
- selected goals or preferences;
- selected comfort zone during onboarding;
- Apple Health permission flow events;
- notification permission flow events;
- onboarding completion events;
- paywall views;
- trial starts;
- subscription conversion events.
We use this information to understand whether onboarding is clear, whether the product is useful, and where users drop off.
This information is not connected to an account because Modero does not require accounts.
5. Product analytics and telemetry
Modero uses TelemetryDeck to collect product analytics and telemetry.
This may include:
- app opened events;
- screen views;
- button taps;
- feature usage events;
- settings changes;
- notification scheduling or permission status events;
- paywall interaction events;
- trial and subscription status events;
- onboarding progress events;
- error and diagnostic events;
- app version;
- build number;
- device type;
- operating system version;
- approximate country or region;
- language or locale;
- anonymous user or installation identifiers.
We use this information to understand how the App is used, improve the product, fix issues, measure conversion, and make better product decisions.
TelemetryDeck is designed as a privacy-focused analytics service, but analytics data may still be processed by TelemetryDeck on our behalf.
We do not use TelemetryDeck analytics to show third-party ads.
6. Apple Health data
Modero may optionally ask for permission to read selected data from Apple Health, such as sleep and heart rate data.
Apple Health access is optional. You can use Modero without granting Apple Health access.
If you grant access, Modero uses Apple Health data to show personal observations, such as possible relationships between drinking days and sleep or heart rate patterns.
Apple Health data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
We do not sell Apple Health data.
We do not use Apple Health data for advertising.
We do not share Apple Health data with advertising networks or data brokers.
You can change Apple Health permissions at any time in the iOS Health app or iOS Settings.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
Modero uses Apple’s in-app purchase system and RevenueCat to manage free trials, subscriptions, purchase status, entitlements, and access to paid features.
Apple processes payments through your Apple ID. We do not receive your payment card details.
RevenueCat may process subscription-related information, such as:
- purchase status;
- free trial status;
- subscription renewal status;
- product identifiers;
- transaction identifiers;
- entitlement status;
- anonymous app user identifiers;
- app version and device-related information needed to manage purchases.
This information is used to unlock paid access, manage subscriptions, prevent purchase errors, understand subscription performance, and provide customer support if needed.
8. Notifications
Modero may ask for permission to send notifications.
Notifications may include reminders, weekly summaries, trial-related messages, or other App-related prompts.
Notification settings are stored locally on your device. Analytics may record notification permission status or notification-related events, such as whether notification setup was completed.
You can change notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
9. No accounts
Modero currently does not require user accounts.
Because there are no accounts, we do not collect account profile information such as name, email address, password, profile photo, or social login information.
If accounts are added in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice inside the App before account-related data is collected.
10. No advertising and no data sale
Modero does not show third-party ads.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not sell alcohol tracking data.
We do not sell Apple Health data.
We do not share your drink logs with advertisers.
11. Data sharing
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate, analyze, and improve the App.
These providers may include:
- Apple, for App Store downloads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and Apple Health permission management;
- RevenueCat, for subscription management and purchase status;
- TelemetryDeck, for product analytics and telemetry.
These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices and/or on our behalf as service providers.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the App.
12. Data retention
Local App data remains on your device unless you delete it in the App, delete the App, or remove it through iOS system features.
Analytics and subscription-related data may be retained by our service providers for as long as needed to provide analytics, subscription management, fraud prevention, debugging, legal compliance, and business reporting.
Because Modero does not currently use accounts, we may not be able to identify or delete a specific user’s anonymous analytics records on request unless you provide enough information for the relevant provider to locate them.
13. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence.
By using the App, you understand that information may be processed in other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
14. Your choices
You can:
- choose not to grant Apple Health access;
- change Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings or the Health app;
- choose not to allow notifications;
- change notification permissions in iOS Settings;
- cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings;
- delete local App data by deleting the App;
- contact us with privacy questions.
15. Children
Modero is not intended for children.
The App is intended for adults who are legally allowed to consume alcohol in their country or region.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may show a notice inside the App.
If we ever decide to collect new categories of sensitive alcohol-related data, such as detailed drink logs, exact drinking times, or long-term drinking patterns on our servers, we will provide clear notice and, where appropriate, ask for permission before collecting that data.
