Terms of Use

Last updated: June 24, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Modero (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By using Modero, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What Modero is

Modero is a mindful drinking app for people who want to drink less on autopilot.

The App helps you log alcoholic drinks with one tap, see your drinking patterns, set a personal comfort zone, and reflect on your habits over time.

Modero is not a sobriety app, a medical app, an addiction recovery tool, or a substitute for professional medical advice.

2. What counts as a drink

In Modero, one drink is logged as one tap.

The App does not ask you to select drink type, alcohol percentage, milliliters, calories, or blood alcohol concentration.

The drink count is intended as a simple personal tracking tool, not a precise medical or scientific measurement.

3. Not medical advice

Modero may show personal observations based on your drink logs, comfort zone, app activity, and optional Apple Health data.

These observations are for awareness only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, health risk assessment, or a recommendation to drink, stop drinking, or change medication or treatment.

If you are concerned about your alcohol use, sleep, heart rate, mental health, or wellbeing, you should speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

If you may be dependent on alcohol, reducing or stopping suddenly can be dangerous. Please seek professional medical advice.

4. Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use the App and for any decisions you make based on information shown in the App.

Modero does not prevent alcohol consumption and does not guarantee that you will drink less.

You should not use the App in any way that puts you or others at risk.

5. Subscriptions and free trial

Modero may offer a free trial and paid auto-renewable subscriptions.

If you start a free trial, you can use the App during the trial period. After the trial ends, your subscription will automatically renew and you will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Subscription prices, trial length, billing period, and available plans are shown in the App before purchase.

Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not directly process your payment card information.

6. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID / App Store subscription settings.

Deleting the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.

7. Access to the App

Some or all features of Modero may require an active subscription after the free trial period.

If your subscription expires, is cancelled, or cannot be renewed, access to the App may be limited.

We may update, change, add, or remove App features over time.

8. Apple Health

Modero may optionally request permission to read selected data from Apple Health, such as sleep and heart rate data, to show personal observations.

Apple Health access is optional. You can grant or revoke permissions at any time in iOS settings.

Modero does not use Apple Health data for advertising or sell Apple Health data.

9. Analytics and telemetry

Modero uses analytics and telemetry to understand how the App is used, improve the product, fix issues, and understand subscription performance.

This may include onboarding events, paywall events, trial and subscription events, feature usage events, settings events, notification-related events, error events, and technical information such as app version, device type, operating system version, and approximate region.

Our analytics are intended to help us improve the App, not to show ads.

More details are provided in our Privacy Policy.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data is collected, what stays on your device, what third-party services are used, and how analytics works.

Please read the Privacy Policy carefully.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may notify you inside the App.

Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Limitation of liability

Modero is provided “as is” and “as available”.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss resulting from your use of the App.

We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate.
